Rescue Maps

Red Bull Romaniacs is the toughest Hard Enduro Rally in the world, organized in Sibiu, Romania, since 2004. It attracts the best riders from around the globe to prove their skill. In 2023, there were over 700 participants, and the number continues to grow each year.

The event spans 4 off-road racing days through the Carpathian Mountains, covering some of the most remote areas where GSM signal is often unavailable. This presents a unique safety challenge for organizers in case of emergencies (technical or medical). Participants need a way to get help or find their way back. Previously, participants received a printed map with essential information for the specific race day, sealed in an envelope to be opened only in case of emergency to avoid penalties. With the increasing number of participants, this method has become inefficient and costly. Therefore, the development of the RBR Rescue Map app was initiated to replace these printed maps.
