Description
The DOC (Direct your Own Care) Journey is an educational and experiential app that will teach you how to overcome chronic pain.
Chronic pain is experienced when one’s body is under a sustained state of mental or physical threat. The stress chemistry causes elevated fuel consumption (metabolism) and inflammation. This translates into many different physical and mental symptoms. The solution lies in learning to regulate your body’s physiology from a threat response towards feelings of safety.
The sequence of the app is:
• Awareness
• Hope
• Forgiveness
• Play
However, you cannot go from pain to play without specific tools to alter your physiology. The DOC Journey will show you how to accomplish this, and with repetition, these strategies will become a part of your daily life. The app includes a toolbox that can be easily referenced throughout any part of the journey.
