Description

Have you experienced eye strain, headache, migraine or other symptoms from being exposed to LED lights or screens? Many LED lights and screens (and some fluorescent lights too) are flickering/blinking at a high frequency that we can not see with out eyes, but that still can cause headache, eyestrain, tiredness and other symptoms. Use this app to measure which light sources and screens are flickering and how much and which are flicker-free!

This app measures flickering of lights that are flickering/blinking so quickly so that we cannot usually see it with our eyes but still can have a negative affect on us. With this new and unique app you can easily measure if your LED lamps, screen or fluorescent tube lights are flickering and how much.

How to Use the App?

Place the phone in a position so that the camera is facing a surface, such as a white paper, an evenly colored wall or a floor, that is lighten by the light source you want to measure the flickering from. It is very important to let the phone stand still during the measurements as movement can cause the meter to measure a too high flickering value.

What is a Flickering Percentage?

The percentage flickering is the apps estimation of the difference between the maximum and minimum light output from a light source. A flickering measurement value of 25% means that the minimum light varies between 75% and 100% light output. A light that switches off completely in each cycle will have a flickering measurement of nearly 100%. A light that does not vary in light output will have a flickering measurement of nearly 0%.

How Accurate are the Measurements?

As long as the phone during measurements is standing absolutely still, without any movements and are directed towards an even surface, the accuracy seems to be within plus/minus five percentage points under normal circumstances on most devices.
