ABOUT
A few years ago I worked out a system that captures spectral data and tsunami warning buoys in order to present clearly and dynamically graphs that facilitate the understanding of the sea state, for browsers and practicing water sports.

The initiative grew out of my own need to gather reliable information to help choose the best day to practice deep sea fishing. This sport is essential to be aware of the weather, ensuring a farther drive from the coast in search of bigger fish.

What to me has become useful, has awakened the interest of other sportsmen and browser visinhas regions, and I ended up expanding the scope of gathering information for national level.

THE SYSTEM
The system, hosted on Debian Linux platform and written in C language and shell script, captures and treats every day hundreds of reliable sources of information and stores it in a MySQL database, which feeds a query interface in the cloud, sorting the data by States and major coastal cities of Brazil, and categorizing by sea area and port.

It is basically a robot that works automatically collecting information and data comes from reliable sources, applying algorithms based on the scale of the enumeration system Beaufort, officially adopted in 1834 by the British navy, to determine the state of the sea.

There were many difficulties, study and adaptations, and now the data is completely independent of the interface, improving performance and reducing costs, given that the system does not have a source of livelihood.

The interface was developed in ASP language, which only makes the communication with the database, because the whole logic of the process is the robot that transfers the data to the database. This leaves the lightest system to work on mobile devices, using minimal processing.

The whole process of capture and treatment work in a small machine Raspberry Pi 3, using only 3watts energy, and a common machine spends an average 500watts.

The main sources of supply data is the BNDO, CPTEC / INPE, NOAA, Navy of Brazil and NASA.

The application is not for profit, its interface is totally free to access, following determinations of data sources. You do not have competitive purpose, the purpose is to present information in a practical and safe, adding navigation experience and scientific models.
