Walking on gold

Złoty Stok is a small, quiet town located on the northern slopes of the Golden Mountains. It is proud to be the oldest mining and metallurgical center in Poland, where large amounts of the most desirable ore, i.e. gold, were mined centuries ago.
This fascinating story can be learned in the unique Gold Mine Museum in Złoty Stok. After visiting the mine, it is worth going for a walk around the city center in the company of our audioguide.
The starting point is located on the Market Square in Zlotystok, surrounded by historic tenement houses. Later, we wander the old streets, learning about the history of the city and historical buildings. Unusually, the surface of the streets was once paved with the remains of gold smelting in the local smelter. There must have been remnants of the ore in them. So we can say that when visiting Złoty Stok, we walk on gold.
