Description
Digital Rupee (e₹) is a legal tender, similar to the sovereign paper currency, and is issued in digital form by the Reserve Bank of India.
YES BANK Digital Rupee is a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) app; customers will be invited to install the app and use the eRupee (e₹) digital wallet powered by YES BANK, for transacting in a convenient and safe manner. The Reserve Bank of India intends to issue a token-based digital currency for retail users. It is substantially not different from banknotes, but being digital it is likely to be easier, faster and cheaper. It also has all the transactional benefits of other forms of digital money.
Through this innovation of Digital Rupee (e₹), YES BANK is honored to play a pivotal role in RBI’s vision to enable a digitally powered economy.
