Description

Almost anyone gets sometimes stressed or feels a little bit anxious, and it's ok.

Imagine having a tool that can help you get relief quickly. A tool that's always available to you and helps you cope with stress and anxiety. It would be great, right?

This magic tool exists. It's your breath.

But it's not magic, it's science.

The Science of Breathing

"When you master your breathing,
you master your body,
you master your mind,
you master your life."

Mike Maric - M.D. & Professor at the University of Pavia, 2004 Freediving world champion

Breathink is an app for breathing exercises curated by Dr. Mike Maric. It'll guide you through a series of simple breathing techniques in order to help you reach a whole new level of wellness in your life.
This breathing app contains a number of breathing exercises and techniques that are drawn from a growing number of studies and from over ten years of experience on the field.
Many scientific studies demonstrate that the quality of breathing deeply affects the quality of life.

The Breathink app is tailored to the needs and backgrounds of everyone.
Simply follow the on-screen instructions and the audio guide while you perform:
• breathing exercises for anxiety
• breathing exercises for stress
• breathing exercises for blood pressure
• breathing for healthy lungs
• ...and many more.

How breathing helps with anxiety

Several studies have shown how deep and diaphragmatic breathing can slow your heart rate and reduce blood pressure. This kind of breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, which reduces the "fight or flight" response that causes feelings of anxiety or tension.
Abdominal breathing for 20 to 30 minutes each day will reduce anxiety and reduce stress. Deep breathing increases the oxygen supply to your brain and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes a state of calmness.

How breathing helps with stress

Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body, because when you breathe deeply it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax.
Belly breathing stimulates the vagus nerve. This activates your relaxation response, reducing your heart rate and blood pressure and lowering stress levels.

How breathing helps with focus

Breathing correctly means supplying our bodies with the right amount of oxygen and replenishing the brain and other vital organs with essential nutrients. Our cardiopulmonary system plays a significant role in moving those nutrients around.
'Box Breathing' is a simple way of creating a balanced, energized state and a calm, focused mind.

Why use a breathing app like Breathink

Even if someone experience positive results from a single breathing session, consistency is the key to generating persistent effects.
To turn anything into a habit, it takes time, effort and dedication and this is where the Breathink app can prove an excellent support tool.
The app is designed to promote consistency by adding structure to your practice, and by being available to you anywhere, anytime. Use it as your guide to turn to for proper execution of technique, and to sustain your motivation by monitoring your progress and stress levels with the MARIC test.

Video and instructions are always available on your phone. The techniques and exercises are just a button press away.
Use the Breathink app to:
• learn proper breathing techniques with the graphical breathing pacer
