Description

App developed by the Phytosanitary Service of the Lombardy Region is addressed to operators in the sector and to fans of the plant world and allows:

- receive information to ascertain or exclude quickly and easily the presence of harmful alien organisms to the most dangerous plants in Lombardy. For each species the user can find an information sheet accompanied by photographs, videos and the distribution map, if it is already present in Lombardy.

- send a report of the suspected presence of the main alien harmful organisms for which the phytosanitary service is active. The system allows to geo-refer the user who is invited to participate in the surveillance of the territory by sending a simple text card and one or more photographs. The application allows the signals only from the Lombard areas where the harmful organisms are not yet known. The reports received will be verified by the Phytosanitary Service. The application does not collect reports for harmful organisms now widespread throughout Lombardy as the Asian bug or for organisms such as Xylella fastidiosa whose presence has never been established in the territory of Lombardy and whose symptoms can be confused with those due to multiple other biotic and abiotic problems.

- receive information on harmful organisms that endanger the biodiversity and food security of our territory and around the world, as well as receive special warnings of alerts in the case of findings of harmful organisms that may directly affect our territory or on which it is necessary pay specific attention.
