Description

It was 1952 when the founder of Urania, traveling to Lexington where the University of Kentucky is based in the United States, saw the "wildcat" on the elegant blue and red uniforms of the famous university team led by the legendary coach Adolph Rupp.

It was immediately "love at first sight" as "Nino" tells us: "Among other things, I was struck by the elegance of the Kentucky University basketball players, especially with their white satin tracksuits, then unknown in Italy, where they still used those plush or wool.

Today URANIA still keeps alive that pioneering spirit and that DNA but has turned into a young and dynamic reality where the values of sport, loyalty and "fairplay" are still the foundations and the cement that unites these guys.

In addition to a First Team that plays in the Serie A2 National Championship, URANIA has a very active youth sector in which young talents can find a suitable environment to develop their skills and the right spirit. Various initiatives are included in this context, such as the Summer Camp in the Mountains and in Milan in the months of June, where younger children can spend a week of basketball and life lessons.

THE FUTURE
WE WRITE IT TOGETHER

"Seriousness, commitment, a group of determined people who wish to pursue an idea of basketball that is inspired by the values of sport, but with an eye to the future and innovation."

Ettore Cremascoli
