RTM Guidage

Description

RTM Guidage is a guidance application to help people with visual impairments when traveling in the Metro in Marseille, like a pedestrian GPS.

The application includes three main tabs:
"Route creation" to create routes and launch guidance
“Where am I” that lets you know where you are at all times
“Menu” to set your guidance preferences: choice of infrastructure to use (stairs, escalator, lift) and the type of guidance indications.

The application works in all metro stations in Marseille, except in St Charles for the duration of the works.
Connections are therefore offered in Castellane. The app works from every subway entrance, in corridors and on platforms.


Very simple sound or visual indications guide you throughout your journey.


Guidance in the metro is made possible thanks to a network of Bluetooth beacons which allow localization with an accuracy of more or less 2 meters. To do this, authorize the use of Bluetooth and your position by the application

This service was developed with the help of nearly 30 visually impaired and blind users, who tested the application throughout the project.
