Description

Packing Genie was made to help you decide which clothes to select for your suitcase.

The goal is to minimize the number of clothes and accessories, while maximizing the number of outfits for a trip, all while ensuring all outfits are harmonious and interesting.

Packing Genie features

• It generates a list of clothes for your trip that all go together.

• It lets you customize this list based on your preferences.

• It offers an exportable image of the contents of this travel capsule.

• It shows you outfit combinations which can be generated with these items.

• It gives a detailed descriptions of every clothing item.

• It enables you to customize individual clothing items to better match your needs, and to see how these changes look with the rest of the capsule.

• It is possible to export the list of clothing items as a PDF file, in case you prefer to have your list printed out on paper.



Prepare your trip with outfits customized for you


A list is generated based on your input:

1/ the length of your trip,

2/ what colors you like,

3/ how many colors you wish to wear,

4/ and what clothing gender you prefer.

You can tune the application's suggestions to more closely match what you own. Or use it as shopping inspiration to build a complete capsule travel wardrobe.
Each list you create is saved, so you can label them and re-use them if they have proven successful.
You can use it as a time-saving organization tool to minimize the time you spend deciding what to pack, or just use it for inspiration for outfits.


Packing Genie will help with choosing colors to wear


The application uses color theory to suggest a wide variety of colors and clothing combinations that should suit the user.
The user is guided in order to determine which colors suit them best (in accordance with "color seasons").
Color palettes can be suggested by the application based on color combinations, such as complementary colors, triads, analogous colors, etc. Even when the user requests a limited palette based on neutrals, the application can suggest using accessories and patterns (stripes, dots, etc.) to inject more visual interest in each outfit.


Climates and culture


The clothes and outfit formulas used are appropriate for moderate weather conditions in Western-style cultures. The suggestions may not be appropriate in situations (very hot or cold weather) and non-western cultures.
