Description
What? Leftovers connects home cooks ('Chefs') with local consumers ('Eaters'), facilitating affordable, authentic and local meal sharing, while providing a sustainable alternative to delivery and fostering community engagement.
Why? Plenty of people have a passion for cooking, but many of us lack the time or ability to cook. We often resort to food delivery, which is expensive, unreliable and unsustainable. Leftovers empowers home cooks to earn a flexible income from home by monetising their cooking skills, without the expensive and restrictive overheads of commercial kitchens. Hyperlocal (same-building) pickup means no wasteful delivery. This all means more affordable, authentic and sustainable food options, right next door!
How? Chefs cook and list meals they would like to share, while Eaters within the same building browse and order. Users indicate pickup times and meet to exchange meals and payment.
Who? Leftovers is for anyone that wants to share their culinary passions or eat home-cooked meals from their neighbours.
When? Leftovers will initially be available in select student residencies and co-living spaces in Copenhagen from August 2025.
Food Safety: Leftovers operates within a trust-based community. While users must follow Danish food health and safety guidelines, users ultimately take responsibility for the food they share and consume. Users are encouraged to leave peer reviews that reinforces accountability and promotes quality. Chefs can list up to five meals per week in accordance with Danish bagatelgrænsen non-commercial quantity limitations. Leftovers provides dedicated customer support, clear terms of service and GDPR alignment.
