HoloApp

Description

HoloApp is dedicated for rendering of diffraction images of dot-matrix holograms used for anti-counterfeiting purposes. The algorithm is able to render a hologram image and display it on the screen. It takes a raster image file ((*.jpg, *.png, etc.) or an image acquired from the integrated camera as input. Tilting the smart device the algorithm automatically recalculates the hologram image.

The App requires version 3.1 of OpenGL ES.

This App was created while carrying out a joint interdisciplinary project between two partner institutions, i.e. the Institute of Materials Science of Kaunas University of Technology and the KTU Department of Multimedia Engineering, titled „Creation of algorithm for rendering of the hologram image and its realization in mobile devices.“ Project was carried out in 2017 and was financed by KTU R&D&I fund, Grant No. MTEPI-P-17013.
