Description
Third Courses, Exercises and Practical Work is a set of educational resources intended for Third Year students, the last year of the middle school cycle in the French education system. These materials cover various subjects and subjects, including mathematics, physics-chemistry (PC) and life and earth sciences (SVT). The objective is to provide students with the necessary foundations to succeed in their school year while preparing them for the high school cycle.
1 - Course:
The courses provide a complete theoretical framework. In mathematics, students tackle fundamental concepts such as functions, statistics, probability, analytical geometry and algebra, which will serve them throughout their school career. In physics-chemistry (PC), courses cover various subjects such as mechanics, electricity, chemistry of solutions, and the study of matter, with an emphasis on scientific methods. In SVT, students explore the basics of biology and geology, studying cells, biodiversity, ecosystems, and geological phenomena.
2 - Exercises:
The exercises allow students to put into practice the theoretical concepts learned in class. In mathematics, exercises include problem solving, algebraic calculations, proving theorems, and analyzing graphs. In physics and chemistry, exercises include calculations on movements and forces, as well as chemical reaction problems. For SVT, exercises often require analyzing biological data, interpreting graphs on the evolution of species, or explaining natural phenomena such as erosion or photosynthesis.
3 - Practical work (TP):
Practical exercises are essential moments where students can directly experience the concepts learned in class. In physics and chemistry, this includes laboratory experiments on chemical reactions, the measurement of forces, or the study of electrical circuits. In SVT, TPs make it possible to study biological samples, observe cells under a microscope, or simulate ecological processes. These hands-on activities promote better understanding by allowing students to manipulate scientific tools and substances while developing their critical thinking skills.
