Hardy-Weinberg quiz

Description

This app generates random populations and asks questions relating to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium equation. This includes asking if a particular population (as defined by the numbers of each genotype) is in equilibrium for that allele. You can also be asked to determine the allele frequency, the genotype frequency, and the expected number of individuals for a particular genotype for a given population. Once you make your choice, you get feedback to help you see why your answer was correct (or incorrect). It also keeps track of how many times you are correct and how long it takes you to answer the question, and your average time, so you can see how you're improving. Now there is a hint system that you can use to help guide you to the correct answer for each question, to help you develop the skills you need to solve them on your own. There is also a ranking system from "novice" to "Ph.D" that allows you to see how your skills are improving. As you earn new levels it becomes harder to earn the next one, so you can challenge yourself. The app is intended for students who want extra practice to improve their skills at applying the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
