Description

Civitas is an application for Android SmartPhones with native technology intended to citizens, with the aim of giving a direct communication channel with the local administration through easy, simple and free to report any incidents in the city product.

This application, by its nature, is aligned with current trends they open government, citizen participation and municipal transparency.

The Open Government is a paradigm shift in public administration, a new way of governing and work from the municipal organitzación. Opting for a government open, transparent and accessible city that recognizes the wisdom of society and is able to connect the capabilities of organizations and citizens.

It is a model where the administration reportedly opens its conociemiento, listen to citizenship, talks to her and seek your cooperation, encouraging greater use of new technologies. The Open Government is based on three main principles: transparency, participation and collaboration.

Currently the cities not only depend on its endowment of physical infraestructures ("physical capital"), but also, increasingly, on the availability and quality of communication of knowledge and social infrastructure ("the intellectual and social capital") they have. This latter form of capital is decisive for urban competitiveness. It is in this context that the concept of "smart city" (smart or digital city) has been introduced as a strategic element to encompass the modern urban production factors in a common framework and to highlight the growing importance of Technology in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), social capital and environmental profile of the competitiveness of cities.
It is in this sense that many cities (often small and medium) are added to this tendency to want to be a "smart city".
