Codes and descriptions of certain food additives authorized in the European Union. (Processed food is often labeled in Europe. The numbering follows the International Numbering System (INS) established by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. Only some of the INS additives are authorized by the EU).
It includes the type, identifier, name and detailed descriptions of each additive (including the permitted intake and possible effects).
