Sycilynnova

Description

Sicilynnova is the official app of the Knowledge Based Fishing project.

The "Knowledge Based Fishing" project has as its main objective the promotion of the sustainable use of marine biological resources in Sicily, through the collection, organization and detailed analysis of data relating to fish resources and fishing activities in the region.

The main objective is to acquire a deeper understanding of the phenomena affecting fish resources, such as fluctuations in abundance, migrations and concentrations for reproductive purposes.

The project does not limit itself to collecting data, but aims to organize it efficiently, using innovative digital tools, including advanced software. These tools will be used to develop predictive models based on relationships between data. Such models will allow the application of acquired knowledge to improve the efficiency of resource use and to minimize unwanted phenomena, such as "bycatch."
