Jeff is a highly decorated soldier who enlisted in the United States Army at the young age of 18 and later retired after nearly 23 years of dedicated service. In 2017, he was honored with induction into the US Army Ranger Hall of Fame.

Throughout his Army career, Jeff spent most of his time to the 75th Ranger Regiment. During his service in this esteemed unit, Jeff not only participated in but also emerged victorious in the Best Ranger Competition in 1996. He later served at the University of Louisville, where he was distinguished as the US Army ROTC Noncommissioned Officer of the Year. Jeff concluded his military service by serving as a chaplain in Airborne and Ranger units.
