Language Companion

Description

Designed by a Myanmar teacher and intended for learners of English including but not limited to Myanmar students, Language Companion App trains the user to think in the target language (English) without needing to translate back and forth into another (or native) language.

This App and its well designed exercises will help language learners

- think in their target language (English)
- learn vocabulary intuitively without translation
- practice English Grammar & Usage in context
- improve their ability to engage in a conversation

App Development Timeline: Sayar Henry's Language Companion App (SHLC) was conceptually designed first in 2017 by Sayar Henry and then the earliest app version was technically developed by his student-turned-partner developer in 2018, with the purpose of testing without publicity. Since then, the app had been updated only once in 2019 until the current (January, 2021) update.

All-New Exercise Units: During the pandemic in 2020, Sayar Henry figured out a better and more effective way to improve the user's linguistic ability to think in the target language. Therefore, a limited sample of new exercises are introduced as of Jan 16, 2021. Although the previous exercise units are no longer available, Sayar Henry will create and publish more and more exercises in upcoming months if enough users love the new 2021 sample exercise units.

About The Teacher: Sayar Henry is a Consulting Teacher with a unique perspective on language acquisition, learning psychology, personal development and critical thinking of young and adult language learners. Using his passion for teaching, language learning and academically trained intellect as an engineer, he dedicates his life to improving learning strategies and teaching methodologies for all Myanmar students, as well as to designing and engineering more effective solutions for the next generation of language learners. He is the first teacher in Myanmar who started video lessons for "Myanmar students" via YouTube and Facebook. He also originally and creatively designed English learning courses known as Ear Training Course, Insight Readers Course, Power Writers Course, and Sweet Grammar Online Course, which are recognized by his 3000+ students as far more effective than traditional 4-Skills approach to language teaching. Defining his work as a new form of language teaching, Sayar Henry is consulting and empowering Myanmar students, while at the same time offering a second-to-none classroom learning experience by implementing his interdisciplinary knowledge, expertise and "Beyond 4-Skills Approach" to language learning. It was those years of handsome experiences not only as a language teacher but also as a learning strategy consultant that laid foundation for the core concept of Language Companion ─ an intuitive solution to foreign language acquisition.
