My Dictation

Description

This app reads a text using Google TTS.

You can specify the rate of TTS speaking and how many times a line will be repeated, so that it can be used for reading a text aloud for dictation training and learning new languages.
The supported languages depends on the TTS engine installed.

How to use:

Please complete to set proper TTS setting before use.

There are 4 ways to get the text data.

1. Using a file
- Please copy the text file or create one using other apps.
- Please click "+" button to load it.
- It reads a text line by line and repeats it as configured, when "speak" button is clicked.
- It can be paused and resumed.

2. Data share
- In other app like a browser, please select any text data and click "share".
- In the dialog, please select "My Dictation".
- The app separates the text as the lines with ".", "?", and "!" automatically and shows the contents.
- Other parts are same as above.
- New contents can be edited or saved with other apps using "Share".

3. Optical character recognition
- You can take a picture of a text and import it by "OCR" in the menu.
- OCR quality depends on the original text and picture quality.
- Other parts are same as above.
- New contents can be edited or saved with other apps using "Share".

4. Paste
- You can paste any text data in the clipboard.
- Other parts are same as above.
- New contents can be edited or saved with other apps using "Share".

Disclaimer:
This app is tested only with Google TTS engine and it may not work with other TTS engines.
If there is any problem with TTS, then please try to use Google TTS engine.
