By scanning the barcode of a product with the ScanUp application, different indicators from official and scientific classifications allow you to assess its impact on your health and the environment:
- The Nutri-Score: it evaluates the nutritional values ​​of the product. The fatter, saltier or sweeter it is, the less favorable the score.
- The degree of processing based on the Goûm standard: it evaluates the quality of the ingredients present in the composition of the product. In particular, it allows you to identify ultra-processed foods.
- The Eco-Score: it assesses the environmental impact of the product.

The application also shows you the details of the nutritional values ​​per 100g, the number of additives and ultra-processed ingredients, the composition of the product and any labels.

- The Nutri-score was made official by Santé Publique France to make the nutritional qualities of food products readable
- The Goûm standard was established by an independent scientific committee to identify the degree of transformation of products
- The Eco-Score is an experimental score based on Life Cycle Analysis from the ADEME Agribalyse public database
The methodologies for calculating these scores are available in open source.
