SATIC

Description

The SATIC application, developed as an integral part of the Science, Technology, Innovation (CTeI) and Society project, represents an innovative security initiative for Santiago de Cali. With a proactive approach, SATIC is dedicated to constantly monitoring key environmental variables, using citizen sensors to anticipate possible emergencies and disasters associated with natural and socio-natural phenomena, such as floods, landslides and fires.

The main objective of SATIC is to save lives and reduce negative impacts in terms of human, economic, environmental and infrastructural losses. The application stands as an essential component for NO interruption of the social and physical development of the District, contributing to sustainability in the short, medium and long term.

SATIC is not only limited to monitoring but also facilitates the generation of intelligent early warnings. Citizen sensors allow users to record alerts, providing valuable, real-time data on critical environmental conditions. The application acts as a bridge between the community and the authorities, strengthening the response capacity in emergency situations.

The Mayor's Office of Cali actively supports this initiative as a strategic commitment to the integration of social and technological capabilities. SATIC, through the transmission of scientific knowledge and the strengthening of community capacities, is positioned as an essential tool to safeguard life in the territories.
