Description
Sarlat Rugby is a French rugby union club based in Sarlat-la-Canéda, in the Dordogne department (New Aquitaine). The rugby club is playing in the Fédérale 2 championship, the second national level of the French amateur rugby union and antechamber of the Federal 1, organized by the French Rugby Federation since 2000.
Sarlat Rugby is one of the monuments of Sarlat, a city at the heart of the melee. At the start of the twentieth century, French national rugby was only in its infancy. The association most commonly cited as having seen the birth of Sarlat rugby is "La Salamandre" chaired by Albert Redon. The salamander is, as everyone knows, the emblem of the city of Sarlat. It was on August 13, 1903, under the name "Sport Club Sarladais", that the former sporting society of La Salamandre took on a new dimension.
The CASPN rugby school is over 150 kids strong and both training and official matches take place on the Madrazès rugby pitch. The club is chaired by the chartered accountant Jean-Luc Menchon and co-chaired by the Franco-American entrepreneur and founder of the UNIQORN incubator-accelerator, Dom Einhorn. Stéphane Labrousse, former coach and sports manager of Trélissac is the coach and sports director of the club's A team.
Assistant coach of team A: Ludovic Pérusin,
Coach B team and young manager: Mathieu Repetto.
Team B coach and scrum technical advisor: Marcel Socaciu.
