Description

This is the first application in the world that can estimate the DIEP flap weight. DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigstric artery Perforator) flap is the most popular method of breast reconstruction using abdominal tissue. Surgeons can easily calculate the DIEP flap weight with varying flap dimensions in a nearly real-time fashion using this application.
The authors programmed the calculation formula in this application.
Estimated DIEP flap weight is shown when users input 6 variables:
1. body mass index (kg/m2) 2. vertical height of the flap (cm) 3.horizontal width of the flap (cm) 4-6.flap thickness (mm) on CT angiographic images at 3 paraumbilical sites: 5cm right, left, and inferior from the umbilicus.
