This type of food is a biological and physiological application of the principle of Yin and Yang, in which every thing is balanced by these two forces respecting, in each case, a certain proportion.

Macrobiotic it is considered that the process of assimilation of food is a decomposition mechanism carried through the digestion: ingested substances decompose until extraction of each molecular element to be introduced into the blood, which feed each cell body.
