Elevate is True Sky Credit Union's latest financial education mobile app, which provides users with financial and budgeting education. Our Reality Fair Course provides students with a hands-on experience with participants being provided a career, starting salary and budget worksheet encouraging them to live within their monthly salary while also paying for housing, utilities and other basic necessities. Students are then offered additional choices such as entertainment, buying a pet, traveling and more. Students are also thrown curve balls in the form of unexpected “Life Happens” expenses such as their car breaking down, shattering their cell phone screen and other unfortunate events. Upon completion of the various scenarios, students who lived within their means and made sound financial decisions find that they actual have a savings and are comfortable in their simulated life. Students who lived beyond their means walk away with a better understanding of managing their finances.
