Description

Octus OCR demonstrates the power of optical character recognition on mobile devices. In particular, for extracting and parsing data from standard government issued identity documents. Octus OCR allows the user to just hold the phone over the ID document to automatically extract the details, detect edges and crop the images being scanned.

Octus OCR allows extracting data from the following documents:

Passports (all countries)
National ID (select countries)
Driving License (select countries)
Voter ID (select countries)

The core features of Octus OCR are as follows:

Scans at a high speed (less than a second for supported documents)
Accurate (accuracy of greater than 95% for supported documents)
Offline (the scanning happens within the device)
Small SDK footprint (one of the smallest SDK footprint of ~7MB)
Supported on over 100+ Android devices (manually tested and confirmed)

Please note that Octus OCR is a demo for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of supported identity document. If you are interested in integrating the OCR SDK into your own App, please write to support@octusocr.com and we can help you with access to our SDKs and support you with the integration. Please note that if there isn’t a document that is in the supported list or if you are getting an error while scanning your ID document, you can always report it as issues so we can investigate to resolve them for you.

A note on privacy: We have taken every care to protect your privacy while using our App. Any data that we process will be encrypted using AES 256 Bank grade encryption and transmitted via TLS 1.2 (a secure https line to our backend servers hosted on Amazon). As a young research and development company, we only use the information for improving the technology and never used for financial gains. And we strongly believe that privacy is a human right and every company needs to take steps to protect users from their private data. And that’s the reason why you will never seen an advertisement on Octus OCR App.
