Description
Under the authority of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs of Gabon, Nour Radio and Television is a tool for development. Its headquarters are located in Batavea, Libreville. This radio and television station, which was launched on June 28, 2014, has a balanced editorial approach. The radio broadcasts on 95.00 FM, while the television broadcasts on channel 479.25 MHz, followed by the SATCON bouquet on channel 7. The program schedule for these two media outlets reveals 80% of its content focused on Islam, but also includes social, economic, and cultural topics (20%).
Nour TV is the only and leading national Muslim television channel. The programs of this television channel, whose slogan is "in the service of development," revolve primarily around Islam.
However, there are other programs, such as films, series, thematic programs, documentaries, reports, news, etc., but each one has a connection to Islam.
The television broadcasts 24 hours a day, with a daily newscast, covering national and international news, field reports, and interviews.
To produce these activities, the authorities of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs of Gabon (CSAIG) have assembled state-of-the-art equipment, allowing the new television channel to be broadcast digitally. The channel is broadcast on the SATCON package, but also via a regular antenna, exclusively in Libreville, for the time being.
A channel dedicated to decryption, knowledge sharing, and the transmission of knowledge, it is responsible for designing and programming educational programs that promote access to knowledge, information, etc.
The station plays a major role in educating, raising awareness, and teaching, emphasizing that the project was designed to bring light into people's homes and hearts. Hence the name Nour, which means Light in Arabic. We want to put man back in relation to his universe, his environment, and his milieu; remind man of the purpose of his existence on earth.
