This is a noble book that addresses an important topic of concern to the Islamic nation now and at all times, and even to the entire world: education and its consideration of the stages of human development. Ibn al-Jawzi made it clear that each stage of human development requires appropriate knowledge, literature, and behavior, through which it can be upright. He begins the book by dividing a person's life into five seasons, advising the wise person to seize the opportunity and strive to ensure that these stages pass without being equipped with what is appropriate for them. The first category is from birth to puberty; the second category is from puberty to late youth; the third category is middle age, from late youth to the age of fifty; the fourth category is old age, from fifty to seventy; and the fifth category is decrepitude, from seventy to the end of life.

Author:
Ibn al-Jawzi, Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri, was a Hanbali jurist, hadith scholar, historian, and theologian (510 AH/1116 AD - 12 Ramadan 597 AH). He was born and died in Baghdad. He enjoyed widespread fame and a prominent position in public speaking, preaching, and writing, and he also excelled in many sciences and arts. His lineage goes back to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq. He was known as Ibn al-Jawzi because of a walnut tree that once grew in his house in the town of Wasit. There was no other walnut tree in the town. It is also said that he was named after "Fardat al-Jawz," the port of the Basra River.

- An educational booklet from the subtleties of Ibn al-Jawzi's writings. He divides life into stages, briefly detailing each stage's appropriate uses, whether it be for knowledge, work, or worship. A reminder and exhortation to seize the seasons of life in what our Lord loves and is pleased with, and in what brings us great benefit and reward, God willing.
Hala Amin

- In this short booklet, Ibn al-Jawzi introduces us to the stages of life, which he divided into five sections. He discusses each season separately, explaining the importance of utilizing each stage of our lives in ways that benefit us in this world and especially in the Hereafter. The book concludes with advice that includes all those who experience these seasons, and specifically addresses the youth, urging them not to waste their lives in amusement, but rather urging them to work as hard as they can so that God may accept their deeds. This is a unique booklet, and one of the first books I have read by Al-Jawzi. I was drawn to its distinctive and unique language. What can I add except that it was Ibn Al-Jawzi himself, but I would have appreciated the book more if he had delved deeper into describing these stages because he spoke about them simply and without many details. - Imam Ibn al-Jawzi divides a person's lifespan into five stages, advising the wise person to seize the opportunity before it becomes a choke point.
Ahmed Ibrahim

- A short book that you can finish in one sitting, but thankfully, the words of the ancients are both brevity and conciseness. I liked his division of the stages of a person's lifespan.
A reader

- A pleasant, light, and short book in which Ibn al-Jawzi divides lifespan into five parts.

❇️ Some quotes from the book Tanbih al-Na'im al-Ghamr 'ala Mawassem al-'Umar by Ibn al-Jawzi ❇️

"Ibn al-Jawzi said: Whoever knows the honor and value of life will not waste a single moment of it. So let the young man consider guarding his goods. Let the old man preserve as much as he can. Let the old man stock up to catch up with his group. Let the decrepit man consider taking possession of his belongings immediately."

❇️ Chapters of the book Tanbih al-Na'im al-Ghamr 'ala Mawāsif al-'Umar by Ibn al-Jawzi ❇️

- The first season (from the time of birth to the time of puberty, which is fifteen years): The section on childhood, in which he focused on the importance of raising a boy and teaching him knowledge, and on parents' awareness of their children's brilliance and the high aspirations of some of them.

- The second season (from the time of puberty to the peak of youth): He called this the age of youth, during which he encouraged marriage and urged young men to avoid sins.

- The third season (middle age): From the age of 35 to 50, this was considered an intermediate period, as a man still retains some of his youthful vigor and the decline of old age begins. He focused on increasing obedience during this period, as long as the youthful vigor and energy of youth remain.

- Season Four (Old Age): From 50 to 70 years old, in this season, a man remembers his youth and the sins he committed, regretting what he has lost, citing poetic verses and sayings of the righteous.

- Season Five (The Pyramid): From 70 to the end of his life, here he prepares for death with a prayer.
