The Constitution Museum: Rights and Freedoms Academy located in the O. P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, is an effort to showcase the Constitution of India as the living document that it truly is. Launched on the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, the museum will honour the legacy of the makers of this remarkable charter and ensure it remains a vibrant guide for future generations.
The museum is a go-to destination to understand the Constitution in its entirety with various sections dedicated to each part of the document and its significance. Using an abundance of historical data, the museum sheds light on the making of this iconic document and pays tribute to the Constituent Assembly members. Also featured are the spirited debates and deliberations that refined and created a robust manuscript ahead of its time.
Through a multitude of formats- textual, audiovisual, experiential, the space will also spark explorations and deliberations on the rights and freedoms that are made available to us. The art, both that which was part of the handcrafted document as well as that which has been inspired by the Constitution, is another major attraction. The museum also houses an archive of expert interviews that delves into various aspects of the legal and constitutional landscape.
The museum, with its interactive installations, quizzing stations, and immersive experiences, introduce complex concepts in a fun, experiential and accessible manner.
