Description

Bangladesh is one of the most promising countries in the production and export of bagda and lobster. The country has more than 275,000 hectares of fresh and brackish water enclosures suitable for shrimp farming along the vast coastal area. Besides, there are numerous ponds, paddy fields and natural reservoirs throughout the country where freshwater lobsters can be produced. The soil, water salinity level and favorable climate here are very suitable for shrimp farming, so Bagda or Galda can be farmed at least twice a year.
Since 1980, the American NGO Winrock International has been working with fisheries and agriculture in Bangladesh.
Farmers and shrimp industry to realize this potential of increasing shrimp production and export
Winrock launched their Safety Project to provide assistance to individuals and organizations concerned with
Keeping this objective in mind, the Safety (SAFETI) project has taken the initiative to create a mobile application for shrimp farming farmers.
This Android app has been developed with solutions, calculators and complete guidelines for various daily problems related to farming for shrimp farmers in Bangladesh. The app is developed by Bangladeshi software developer Codetree (CODETREE).
Later, at the end of the safety project schedule, the Winrock authorities handed over the app to the Department of Fisheries, whose overall technical supervision would be maintained by Codetree.
