Paraphrasing a famous sentence, "nothing national is foreign to us": we will deal with the economy, security, education, culture, academia, law, spiritual matters, and more. Our goals are to bring the reading public new information about Israel, to expose it to news and thoughts from the world, to examine the existing policies in various fields and sometimes also to offer possible alternatives.
Value-wise, we are "classical liberals" or "liberal conservatives". We see individual choices as a political achievement unique to Western culture, an achievement bought through personal responsibility and civic involvement; At the same time, we recognize that elections by themselves are not enough, and are supported by identity and social institutions, the main ones being nationalism and religion. In our eyes, voluntary and spontaneous civil institutions are immeasurably better than a large state with abundant budgets, which harms personal and economic choices.
'Mida' seeks to look at reality with a sober eye. We are guided by realism: we recognize the fact that even if culture and values ​​play a role in shaping history, it is often the considerations of "fear, respect and interest" that determine the agenda. We will be as faithful as possible to the facts, and not to theories and fancies.
