Map Calibration

Description

The app enables convenient and easy sat navigation on a (paper) map with no geographical coordinates given explicitly.

First, an user can determine the scale of the map by identifying common locations on it and on a satellite map displayed on the phone, and measuring the distance between them on the map with a ruler.

Then, it becomes available an original way of referring to any location on the map by measuring the distances from two fixed locations. In this way, any point on the map can be "digitalized" in matter of seconds, easily and precisely. The app provides heading and distance to every such a point. The list of points can be saved for future use
