Te Hiwa has been created to support you in learning more of Te Ao Māori – the Māori world, Te Ara Kotahi - Our Māori Strategy and Te Mātangi - Our Māori Partnerships team. Te Hiwa is a culturally important tool for Waka Kotahi and we hope that it helps you on your Māori cultural learning journey.
Interactive features within the app include pronunciation of Māori words, maps with Māori names, mihimihi/pepeha (introductions), ngā mihi (greetings), Te Tirohanga (Māori orldview), whakataukī (proverbs), and waiata (songs).
One of the app’s key features is that it allows staff to input their own personal information to create a customised pepeha or introduction.
