Maulid barzanji was written by a great scholar and waliyullah Shaykh Sayyid Jakfar bin Husein bin Abdul Karim Al Barzanji.
He was born in 1126 H and most say that he died in 1177 H. mawlid al-barzanji has the original title "qd Al-Jawahir" or "Iqd Al Jawhar fi Maulid An Nabiyyil Azhar".
