Bishop's Index, Bishop score, or Bishop's Scale, also known as cervical maturation scale is a scoring system used to predict whether induction or conduction of labor will be necessary. it has also been used to assess the probability of spontaneous preterm delivery.
The application was developed to facilitate the calculation of Bishop's index by obstetricians.
It is the best way to assess the cervix and predict the likelihood that induction will result in vaginal delivery.
The conduct for each patient can vary, regardless of the result of the application, so the responsibility is entirely of the professional who evaluates.
