Description

The SAbERES mobile application allows users to receive Ecosystem-Based Climate Change Adaptation (AbE) measures specific to their location and production model. It is designed to accompany the participants of the SAbERES project in Mexico, but can be used by anyone who needs a system to record the activities and costs of the production model and who wishes to receive information on adaptation measures to climate change, thus improving the resilience of its productive system.
The app helps the user manage productive models by tracking all events stored in the app, including future activities, for which reminders and alerts can be set. Users also receive news and notifications from their local organization, the SAbERES project, as well as the agroclimatic roundtables' newsletter, which includes expected weather patterns and recommendations.
The application allows users to store images of their production models and activities, as well as view these with their respective costs in chronological order. It also allows users to interact with each other and ask questions to the SAbERES “Artificial Intelligence”, where specific suggestions for a production model and a given location are shared.

The application is being developed by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), an Austrian partner of the SAbERES project in Mexico, funded by the German International Climate Initiative (IKI).
