Assisting children and adolescents in socially vulnerable situations with cancer, providing access to dignified treatment so that they have more chances of achieving a cure.
ACTIVITIES DEVELOPED DURING THE YEAR
AUDIENCE BENEFITED – Children and adolescents in socially vulnerable situations with cancer, aged 0 to 21 years. We closed 2020 with 103 children/adolescents undergoing treatment and 556 who have already completed it and are in the “control” phase, totaling 659 children assisted by the Foundation. Total public benefited (assisted and family members) around 2,636 people.
ACCOMMODATION PROGRAM – We accommodate 658 (assisted and their companions), corresponding to 3150 daily and ½ daily (our accommodation includes bed and bath linen, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, transportation). The estimated cost corresponds to an approximate value of R$297,300.00, in addition to a games room, sound, television/video, mini-kitchen for special meals out of hours, laundry so that mothers can wash and iron their clothes, all for free.
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM – The Foundation has 5 vehicles: 1 Kombi, (donated by Ronald McDonald Institute), 3 Fiat-Ducato vehicles (donated by the Secretary of Health of the State of M.Gerais and Ministry of Health -PRONON) and 1 Fiat Strada van destined for transporting our children and their companions to hospitals and also collecting donations received from the community.
MEDICINES, EXAMS, CATHETERS, OTHER EQUIPMENT AND PROSTHESES PROGRAM – 456 medication prescriptions and 253 exam prescriptions provided free of charge.
