Description
A digital and print news platform that provides diverse coverage of events in Algeria and the world, especially in the Maghreb and Sahel regions of Africa.
Al-Ekhbariya newspaper was born on July 5, 2013, at the hands of a young and ambitious media team headed by journalist Kamal Doha, who currently holds the position of General Director of the complex. Al-Ekhbariya chose this glorious day (Independence and Youth Day) to reflect its national orientations and its keenness to provide a balanced media service with complete objectivity and credibility.
Al-Akhbariya wrote a distinctive slogan that explained its editorial approach to dealing with events: “The truth as it is,” thus placing the interest of the nation and the citizen above any other consideration.
In order to keep pace with the developments taking place in newspapers nationally and internationally, it launched its website “elikhbaria.dz”... shortly after the publication of the first issue of the printed edition.
Al-Ekhbariya, in its keenness to continuously develop its media services, launched at the end of the year 2021 a modern and advanced version of the website, containing a new national and international digital platform, in conjunction with the anniversary of the historic marches of December 11, 1960.
The new version of the Al-Ekhbariya website witnessed important changes, both in form and content, and was distinguished by the launch of the Al-Ekhbariya+ platform, which deals primarily with digital content (multimedia) in its coverage of national, regional and international events, especially in the Maghreb and African Sahel regions.
The digital news platform specialized in following up on events in the Maghreb and Sahel regions, the most important of which were the developments witnessed by Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, in addition to the situation in the occupied Western Sahara, and monitoring and documenting the Makhzen regime’s aggressive policies towards Algeria.
In continuation of the continuous development approach followed by the complex, Al-Akhbariya launched on January 1, 2024, a “digital television channel” directed to the Maghreb and African Sahel regions.
The editorial line of the channel is based on accompanying the prominent diplomatic role played by Algeria, especially in light of the accelerating events in the region, and the increasing hostility of the Makhzeni regime towards Algeria, and its work to distort the most prominent just issues in the world, most notably the issues of “Western Sahara” and “Palestine.”
The digital channel will be a voice for the peoples of the region and a platform to talk about the most prominent files and issues related to Maghreb and African Sahel affairs, and to follow up on the major transformations in relations between the countries of the Maghreb.
The channel will focus on exposing the plans targeting Algeria, through analytical and dialogue programs, and one of the channel’s priorities will be to protect national public opinion against misleading media content.
