The EBS Field Book is especially developed for users of the Enterprise Breeding System (EBS). It is a digital tool designed to ensure the integrity and security of collected phenotypic data from field experiments. This replaces the traditional pen-and-paper method, thus reducing risks of data loss. With its full integration with EBS, users only need a secure internet connection to seamlessly transfer experiment files onto the app and, subsequently, share the recorded data to EBS.
The app’s connection with EBS is enabled by Breeding APIs (BrAPI)—removing the need to download and upload data collection files. Users can directly load experiment data from EBS onto the app and proceed to the field for data collection. Recorded phenotypic data can then be shared in real-time to update the experiment in EBS, thereby speeding up the data collection process and minimizing human error.
The EBS Field Book app is another effort to champion the needs of breeding teams and collaborators with the overall goal of transforming crop breeding by offering a single data management system that digitalizes the breeding process. For more information, send us a support ticket.
