Dhormogeet

Description

The Khristiyo Dhromogeet application is a project based on the intention to preserve the Traditional Assamese Christian Hymnbook 'খ্ৰীষ্টীয় ধৰ্ম্মগীত' digitally, which is eligible to be used by anyone able to read assamese script, regardless of any age group. All the contents are exactly same as the original 'খ্ৰীষ্টীয় ধৰ্ম্মগীত' published by 'যুটীয়া অসমীয়া খ্ৰীষ্টিয়ান সাহিত্য কমিটী, গুৱাহাটী', 8th edition 1986. Nothing has been changed or altered. In fact this project is not a copy of the original 'খ্ৰীষ্টীয় ধৰ্ম্মগীত' but an extension or preservation, of the selfless deeds contributed by the early Christians of Assam, and the American Missionaries who translated English Hymns into Assamese, worked out a hymnal in assamese language. The present generation of youngsters are used to smart devices and portability. This app is an effort to enable the Assamese Christian Baptist Hymnal stay alive among the younger generation by availing it to them on portable smartphone devices.

Dhananjoy Rabha built the Khristiyo Dhromogeet app as a free app with the intention of availing it to everyone, inspired by the lines mentioned by E. Stafford, the then Chairman of 'যুটীয়া অসমীয়া খ্ৰীষ্টিয়ান সাহিত্য কমিটী, গুৱাহাটী' : "এই 'খ্ৰীষ্টীয় ধৰ্ম্মগীত' কিতাপখনৰ গীতবোৰ সকলোৱে গাই যেন মহান ঈশ্বৰৰ আৰু ত্ৰাণকৰ্তা যীচুখ্ৰীষ্টৰ গৌৰৱ আৰু প্ৰশংসা কৰিব পাৰে এনে আশাৰে খ্ৰীষ্টীয় সমাজলৈ আগবঢ়ালোঁ". in the original 'খ্ৰীষ্টীয় ধৰ্ম্মগীত' edition 1986. This SERVICE for Dhormogeet app is provided by Dhananjoy Rabha at no cost and is intended for use as is. Dhananjoy Rabha has not used any content from the copyrighted editions which were published after 1986 so please don't raise any conflict as none of the modified songs wrapped in the copyrighted editions have been included in this project. The free distribution of this app and making it available on portable digital devices won't impact the sale of Khristiyo Dhormogeet Songbooks as claimed otherwise by our leaders. This app is an extension of the Khristiyo Dhormogeet Hymnal so that it is available to everyone but not a discouragment to the sale of physical hard copies.
