The Vision of the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) is to promote quality visual arts education, its mission is to achieve its vision by: 1. advocating visual arts education as an integral part of a balanced curriculum, 2. establishing quality art education through standards-based programs, 3. researching, developing, directing, and publishing best practices in visual arts education, 4. advancing knowledge and skills through professional development, 5. serving as a voice for art educators of Texas, 6. providing members with services and leadership opportunities, 7. endorsing the placement of highly qualified art educators, and 8. mentoring the next generation of art educators. TAEA's annual conference provides members with tools, enrichment, and networking to make their work as art educators meaningful and valuable.
