Description

The constitution is the supreme law of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the "basic law" that all laws derive their substance. No law can be contrary to the Constitution and therefore can not oppose it or reduce its scope. This document defines the type of society in the country, symbols that distinguish the country from other countries, such as the flag, the anthem, the motto and the national currency, the form of government (federal or unitary) the political system, the electoral system at national and provincial level, and the responsibility and the functioning of justice and institutions.
