Description
In this application you can find all the works we carry out from the Secretariat of Social and Urban Integration. Created at the end of 2015, it has the mission of integrating Barrio 31 into the formal city, with the aim that all residents of the neighborhood can enjoy the same rights and responsibilities as the other inhabitants of the City of Buenos Aires. For this, the approach of the integration project is holistic: it seeks to address and solve the problems of infrastructure and housing and, at the same time, work on the development of human capital in the neighborhood, ensuring access to education and public health. quality, as well as supporting the economic development of all the neighbors.
One of the pillars of our work is in the infrastructure works, which include the sewage and pluvial, the drinking water network, the power line, plus the paving and street lighting of the streets of the neighborhood. We are doing completion works in those areas that were not tended, and readjusting the existing ones in the cases that are necessary. In this way, all residents of Barrio 31 will have access to basic services, through formal connections to the City's network and will pay for their use. In addition, we work to improve and value the 26 public spaces of the neighborhood, adapting the accesses and roads and incorporating technology such as LED lighting.
On the other hand, understanding that a safe, accessible and adequate home is essential for the neighbors to develop in all areas of their lives, we work to improve all the homes in Barrio 31. For those cases where it is not possible to do so, we built 1,200 new homes in the neighborhoods Containera and YPF.
However, the social and urban integration of Barrio 31 not only encompasses infrastructure and habitat, but also works to expand access to quality public education and public health, while advancing the expansion of economic development opportunities. of the neighbors of the neighborhood. In this way, nowadays Barrio 31 already has two educational poles (María Elena Walsh and Mugica), which are added to the Initial School and Vocational Training Center located in the Cristo Obrero sector, next to the new homes in Container.
To improve access to health, we built three new Health Centers for the primary care of neighbors, with new specialties, medical teams, bedside hours, and a digital medical history.
Finally, to achieve the development of economic activities and the professional development of the neighbors, we work through two Entrepreneurial and Labor Development Centers (CeDEL), located in the San Martín and Cristo Obrero sectors. These two centers are the spaces to bring neighbors of the neighborhood to all economic development programs: labor integration, entrepreneurial development, training in trades and formalization and financial inclusion. At the same time, we work in specific sectors of the neighborhood, such as the Feria Latina, to formalize economic activities, expand commercial circuits and train neighbors to continue developing their ventures.
