BookyPets is an adventure video game which seeks to encourage daily reading habits in children between the ages of 7 and 12 in a fun and easy way.
Now children can turn reading into a game thanks to a methodology that fosters reading habits and routines, as scientific evidence reports.
The BookyPets app takes children to a world of fantasy where they will live out amazing adventures alongside incredible characters. They will free and collect the adorable BookyPets by defeating the evil monsters of Fear, Laziness and Selfishness as they read hundreds of proverbs, fables, legends and children’s novels included in the game.
BookyPets integrates readings into the narrative of the video game in order to develop reading habits. Reading and playing will become one and the same.
Main features:
- Game mechanics based on the most popular games for children between the ages of 7 and 12 (RPG, Tower Defense, Collecting…).
- Over 50 BookyPets to save, collect and evolve. The Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Unicorn, the Blue Mermaid and the Winged Lion are just a few of them. Children won’t stop reading until they have managed to save them all! A passion for daily reading will be ignited!
- Character editor with dozens of personalisable elements so your child can create their own in-game avatar.
- Over 3,000 available readings: proverbs and traditional sayings, classic and modern tales, fables and children’s novels.
- Your child will achieve awards with each reading they complete: spells, energy and keys to free their BookyPets. Moreover, there are special awards unlocked by reading daily.
- A private area is available for parents and teachers, containing information regarding your child’s progress and the readings they have completed: number of words they have read, time spent reading daily, average score in reading comprehension, improvement in their vocabulary…
- You will be able to join your children to their classroom clan.
- All of the texts and in-game readings are available in English.
