Salmo 58

Description

1 Do you mighty men indeed speak justly? Do you men judge aright?
2 No! In your heart you plot injustice, and in the earth your hands spread violence.
3 The wicked err the way from the womb; Liars go astray from birth.
4 Its venom is like the venom of a serpent; cover their ears, like a snake that pretends to be deaf
5 not to hear the music of the enchanters, who make enchantments with such skill.
6 Break their teeth, O God; pull out, Lord, the fangs of these lions!
7 Disappear like flowing water! When they wield the bow, let their arrows fall without strength!
8 Be like a slug that melts along the way; like an aborted fetus, let them not see the sun!
9 The wicked will be swept away before their pots feel the heat of the wood, whether it be green or dry.
10 The righteous will rejoice when they are avenged, when they have bathed their feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 Then men will comment: “Surely the righteous have their reward; surely there is a God who executes justice on earth.”
