Kikasha, derived from the Swahili term for 'inbox,' is a user-driven non-governmental platform designed to promote good, citizen-centered governance. It enables users to monitor how leaders manage public resources, track the progress of government projects, audit the acquisition of wealth by leaders after they have assumed office, assess and track the performance of politicians and government officials, and engage with them directly through digital pigeonholes, all from the comfort of your phone.

Features and Uses
Tracker
Kikasha's Tracker feature is a robust tool designed to enhance transparency and accountability in government operations. This feature empowers citizens to monitor and report on the implementation of government projects and programs within their localities. Users can provide real-time updates on the status of projects—whether they have not started, are on track, are stalled, or have been completed successfully.
Reps
This features is aimed at promoting effective parliamentary/legislature oversight by citizens. It is a critical tool for enabling citizens to evaluate the performance of people’s political representatives at all levels of government, ensuring they perform their duties as required of them.
Audit
Kikasha's Audit feature is an innovative solution aimed at combating corruption by tracking the accumulation of wealth by politicians and senior government officials. This tool enables citizens to document and share information regarding sudden increases in wealth and lavish lifestyles by politicians and public officials that may indicate corrupt practices.
Assemblies
This feature is meant to be a citizens’ meeting space. Assemblies enables users to hold online meetings where they can discuss issues of public interest. These assemblies can be tailored to various formats, including private or public sessions, and can be conducted anonymously.
Tags
Tags are digital pigeonholes assigned to each government department and are intended to serve as a mailbox where citizens can send messages in text, video, picture, or any combination thereof, directly addressing the specific department of a user’s interest.
Rating & Polls
Enables users to rate the performance of political leaders and institutions and conduct opinion polls to gauge public sentiment on various topics.
Petitions
Enables users to create petitions to address specific concerns or advocate for changes within the government.
Forums
Aims to provide spaces for groups where they can engage on their issues privately and communicate easily, seamlessly, affordably, and in real time.
Anonymity
Kikasha acknowledges that some of the information users may want to share may be sensitive and could result in court cases or reprisals, including physical harm, against the sender. For this reason, the app provides an anonymous feature which, when switched on, enables users to conceal their identity.
