The Introduction to What the Qur’an Reader Should Know, known as the Al-Muqaddimah Al-Jazari, is a body of text on intonation by Ibn Al-Jazari Al-Shafi’i, who died in the year 833 AH.

The system was formulated by Ibn Al-Jazari on Bahr Al-Rajz, and the date of its organization was within the year 798 AH. The number of verses of the system is 107 according to what is in the least of them, and the saying of the author at the end is supported by what is in some versions:

Its verses are equal to the number of those who are good at intonation will be wise

Because the letter Zay corresponds to the number 7, and the Qaf corresponds to the number 100 in the camel account. In other versions, its verses are 119 verses.

It seems that Ibn al-Jazari did not put sub-headings among the verses of the system.
