Description
This Android application is an explanation of the Resistance of the Indramayu Kyai against the Japanese Invaders in 1944 by Hudallah. In Pdf format.
The history of Islamic civilization, especially in the Indonesian archipelago (Dutch East Indies), cannot be separated from the intervention of local ulama (Kyai). Kyai, through the knowledge he gained at the Islamic boarding school, then preached it to the community, at least the community around where he lived. This pattern continues to persist even now.
Resistance by natives against the Dutch and Japanese continued to occur from mass to mass. It is undeniable that these incidents of resistance have different backgrounds from one to another, however, the main factor is always motivated by the struggle for injustice and oppression, and it is not uncommon for this resistance to be spiced up with religious values. One phenomenal example is the resistance carried out by farmers in Banten against the Dutch.
The resistance that occurred in the Indramayu community, mainly driven by the Kyai against the Japanese invaders, was an event that occurred every once in a while, as an effort to fight injustice and oppression. Many factors trigger resistance, ranging from social politics, economics and religion. However, these factors are related to one another, so that the community, especially the figures (Kyai, Haji or land owners) put up resistance.
When read more deeply, this work has several shortcomings. Researchers cannot clearly see whether or not there is a relationship between resistance in one region and another, especially the Indramayu region. Researchers also in looking at the relationship between resistance figures in Indramayu cannot confirm whether there is a connection between one figure and another. However, it cannot be denied that the existing data clearly shows that resistance first broke out in Kaplongan Karangampel village.
This thesis work which was later recorded became important as a contribution to local Islamic civilization, especially to the archipelago region, and more narrowly to the people of Indramayu itself. Japanese policies that are deemed unfair and cause misery to society, especially if they conflict with beliefs, will be rejected.
Fighting and taking up arms was chosen by the Kyai, Haji and community leaders - carried out with caution and in the smallest scope - as the last effort of struggle.
Finally, I would like to congratulate the author who has successfully carried out this research, because as is known, searching for manuscripts during the Japanese occupation is difficult, especially in an Islamic context.
